They’re Growing More Than Crops: The Real Reason Foreign Criminals Want U.S. Land

By The Craig Bushon Show Media Team

There is an invasion happening on American soil. Not with weapons or military forces, but through strategic land acquisition and criminal activity. The Chinese Communist Party and affiliated criminal networks are purchasing American land to conduct illicit operations. These are not normal real estate transactions. They are part of a coordinated effort that poses a direct threat to public safety and national security.

In multiple states, local law enforcement agencies have uncovered covert agricultural operations run by Chinese crime groups. These sites serve as centers for illegal drug production—including marijuana and fentanyl distribution—money laundering, and human trafficking. These operations are hidden behind layers of shell companies and false identities, making detection and prosecution exceptionally difficult.

While these operations expand, federal and media attention remains minimal. Communities experiencing rising addiction rates, cash-only businesses, and declining property values have received little assistance. As more land is purchased by groups tied to adversarial governments, the situation grows more concerning.

If any other foreign power were acquiring land while fueling a domestic drug crisis, it would be considered a national security emergency. Yet Washington’s past  response has been muted. That silence allows the threat to expand—not due to incompetence, but by default.

This threat is strategic. Chinese entities exploit gaps in U.S. oversight, property regulations, and immigration enforcement to grow their presence. These are systemic issues—not isolated incidents.

What the Trump administration is doing:

In July 2025, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced the National Farm Security Action Plan—a multi-agency initiative to prevent adversarial land purchases and protect American food and research assets. The plan includes:

  • A nationwide ban on Chinese nationals and CCP-affiliated entities purchasing U.S. farmland, especially near military installations.

  • Legal efforts to reclaim farmland already acquired by adversarial foreign entities.

  • Stricter enforcement of the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act, with new penalties and reporting standards.

  • Termination of over 700 foreign-affiliated research agreements.

  • Domestic reinvestment in agricultural technology through coordination with DARPA and other agencies.

Additional executive orders are in development, backed by cooperation between federal and state governments.

At the state level, at least 24 states are actively restricting or banning foreign land ownership—most with a specific focus on countering the influence of the Chinese Communist Party.

What must be done:

  1. Ban foreign land ownership by hostile entities
No individual or company linked to adversarial governments should own American farm land or homes especially near strategic infrastructure.

  2. Treat organized crime groups as national security threats
Triad-affiliated networks operating in the U.S. must be classified similarly to domestic terror groups and allocated appropriate federal resources.

  3. Fund local law enforcement
Rural communities need support to investigate and dismantle hidden grow operations and money laundering rings.

  4. Expose criminal networks
Journalists and whistleblowers must continue revealing how these networks acquire land, launder money, and operate through shell corporations.

This problem cannot continue unnoticed. Every plot of land acquired by hostile actors, every overdose enabled by illegal drug networks, and every community left unsupported is a call to action.

We are not helpless. Americans must demand leadership and enforcement. Protect our borders. Enforce our laws. Secure our communities.

At The Craig Bushon Show, we promote an America First policy that safeguards our land, our people, and our sovereignty. If you agree, now is the time to act.

I Can. You Can. We Can. Protect Our Nation Together.
