The Sword and the Cross
Daily devotion that cuts through lies and commands truth.
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 thunders with a truth too powerful to ignore. Do not act as if you didn’t see this. Do not scroll past as if it were just another verse in a book. This is the core of everything—God Himself, the Creator of heaven and earth, loved you so deeply that He gave His Son to take your place. He didn’t wait until you had it all together. He didn’t wait until you cleaned yourself up. He came for you when you were at your worst, when sin had its grip on your soul.
Jesus Christ hung on that cross, bloodied and beaten, not because He sinned—He was sinless. He died because we sinned. He bore the punishment that belonged to us, so that we might stand forgiven, redeemed, and free. That is not religion. That is love. That is salvation.
So don’t stay silent. Don’t harden your heart. If you truly love the Man who died for you, if you truly believe that His sacrifice was for your soul, then live like it. Proclaim it. Shout it. Let the world know that Jesus is Lord, and that His love still saves, still heals, and still sets captives free.
This is not just ancient history. This is the reality that determines eternity. While we were still sinners when we least deserved it Christ died for us.
Will you live as though that doesn’t matter? Or will you rise and declare with your whole life: I love the One who first loved me, the One who died to save my soul.
