The recent news of a 27-year-old woman and her 53-year-old boyfriend, Ashleigh Ableman and Howard Anderson, being accused of burning and torturing her young children with a blowtorch is truly horrific.
According to Dale County Jail records, the two adults were both taken into custody on October 5th on the charge of torture/willful abuse of a child.
Lt. Caroline Jackson from the Dale County Sheriff’s Office stated that investigators and officials from the Department of Human Services had been informed about the three children making allegations against Ableman and Anderson regarding the suspected abuse.
What’s more, is that there were “obvious marks of abuse on the children.”
WDHN reported that all three victims are younger than 12 years old; they allege to have been injured using a blowtorch, causing serious burns.
Discussing this case, Lt. Jackson said “This is a case of obvious torture to these children. We knew immediately that we had to intervene.”
Dale County has been dealing with an increase in suspected child abuse cases.
Unfortunately bond has not yet been set for either Ashleigh Ableman or Howard Anderson until further investigation is completed by authorities.
One can only hope they receive what they deserve for such heinous acts committed against innocent children.
